Fall Leaves
Update November 25, 2017: Thanks to our Parkview Ave neighbours, we now have sufficient leaves to protect the beds during winter. Thank you!
Oct 30, 2017: Raking up leaves from your lawn? Our garden loves leaves! Leaves can provide important nutrients for the soil and provide protection for some of our perennials over the winter. Please consider donating your bags of leaves to PNG rather than leaving them curbside for pickup.
We accept bags with leaves only, that is, they should contain only leaves, with no branches, and no black walnut leaves. Shredded leaves are even better but whole leaves are fine. Please drop your bags under the pergola at Parkview Neighbourhoood Garden or near the shed and we will spread them onto beds as soon as they are weeded for the winter.
If you live close by, you can also wheelbarrow over leaves and drop them directly into beds that have been cleared and weeded. As we approach the end of October, more beds will be cleared and ready for leaves.
Many thanks in advance to our lawn neighbours!
